GTM Seven-Part Research: E-commerce D2C
The seven-part GTM research for physical products, with unit economics and an Amazon, Shopify and Meta Ad Library competitor sweep.
The D2C sibling of the seven-part GTM research, for anything that ships in a box: apparel, beauty, skincare, supplements, food, home, pet, baby, fitness and accessories. The framework is the same; the evidence comes from Amazon reviews, TikTok, Shopify storefronts and the Meta Ad Library. The product is one hero SKU and an offer, the unit economics (contribution margin, break-even CAC and ROAS) are checked before any channel is chosen, and the north star is the second order, not ROAS.
When to use it
- Launching a physical product on Shopify, Amazon or TikTok Shop, especially into the US.
- Choosing a hero SKU, price and bundle, and checking the margins survive paid acquisition.
- A client e-commerce GTM where you need competitors' storefronts, listings and ads side by side.
