Amazon Shipping sets 2026 peak surcharges, skips residential and weekend fees
Amazon Shipping will add a per-package peak surcharge of $0.50–$0.75 from Oct. 25, 2026 to Jan. 16, 2027, plus higher fees for oversized and heavy parcels. Businesses using Amazon's parcel service, including those shipping orders from other sales channels, are affected.
Amazon Shipping announced on Sept. 2 that it will apply peak surcharges during three periods of the 2026 holiday season: Oct. 25–Nov. 21, Nov. 22–Dec. 26, and Dec. 27, 2026–Jan. 16, 2027. A per-package demand surcharge applies to all parcels in those windows, with additional peak amounts for packages that qualify for additional handling, large package or extra heavy fees.
