Amazon to extend GWD to 7 more countries, adds one-test compliance
Amazon will expand Global Warehousing and Distribution beyond the U.S. to the UK, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Canada by year-end, letting one shipment feed eight marketplaces. It also launched multi-country compliance testing, starting with toys.
At its Accelerate seller conference on September 24, Amazon announced a package of tools aimed at sellers who want to sell in more than one country. The biggest logistics change: Global Warehousing and Distribution (GWD), which today connects only to the U.S., will expand to seven more countries — the UK, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Canada — by the end of 2026. Amazon also launched a one-submission compliance testing service, starting with toys, and a unified dashboard for expansion across the U.S., Europe and Japan.
