US-China $30B tariff-cut lists cover toys, appliances, baby gear
The U.S. and China published the product lists for their reciprocal "30-for-30" tariff cuts. The 77 U.S. tariff lines cover toys, small appliances, home textiles and holiday goods, but no effective date has been set.
The United States and China on Sept. 28 published the product lists for their "30-for-30" framework, under which each side will cut tariffs on roughly $30 billion of the other's goods. The U.S. list covers 77 tariff lines of Chinese imports, including toys, small kitchen appliances, baby gear, bed and table linen, Christmas decorations and sporting goods. China's Commerce Ministry says more than 90% of the products will be exempted from all of the additional tariffs the two countries have imposed on each other and taxed at most-favored-nation rates. No effective date has been set: both sides say the cuts will be implemented simultaneously after each completes its domestic legal procedures.
