Deloitte forecasts US holiday sales up 4–4.8%, e-commerce up 7.5–8.4%
Deloitte expects US holiday retail sales of $1.70–1.71 trillion from November 2026 through January 2027, with e-commerce growing about twice as fast as total retail. Online sellers should plan for steady growth and value-driven shoppers who compare prices and switch brands.
Deloitte on Sept. 10 released its annual holiday retail forecast, projecting US holiday retail sales of $1.70 trillion to $1.71 trillion for November 2026 through January 2027, up 4.0% to 4.8% from the same period a year earlier. It forecasts e-commerce sales of $316.1 billion to $318.9 billion, up 7.5% to 8.4%.
