CBP to open CAPE Phase 3 for IEEPA tariff refunds on Oct. 6
CBP will start accepting refund declarations for finally liquidated IEEPA tariff entries on October 6, for CIT plaintiffs who filed importer of record numbers by July 30. About $1.3 billion in refunds is held up by missing banking details.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection will open Phase 3 of its CAPE refund process for tariffs collected under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) on October 6, according to Supply Chain Dive and customs broker Mohawk Global. The date was disclosed in a September 15 court declaration by Brandon Lord, executive director of CBP's Trade Programs Directorate.
