Positioning against an incumbent
You'll lose a head-on fight with the category leader on price and ads, so don't have it. Position where their size structurally can't follow, niche depth, service, speed, or values.
The incumbent's size creates lock-ins they can't change: mass appeal, a broad generic catalog, slow iteration, support at scale. Have AI list those lock-ins, name the counter-position a small brand can own for each, and pick the sharpest wedge for your edge. A wedge too narrow for the giant to copy is exactly the right size for you.
You will lose a head-on fight with the category leader on price, ads, and shelf space, so don't have that fight.
