Brand

Position your brand so it isn't a commodity

If buyers can't say why you over a cheaper alternative, you compete on price and lose. Positioning is the one sentence that makes you the obvious choice for a specific someone.

Without positioning, you're a commodity competing on price against everyone, a race you can't win. Positioning is a deliberate choice: for a specific customer, against a specific alternative, you own one clear benefit. It lets you charge more and market less. AI sharpens and pressure-tests the statement; you own who you're for and what you stand against.

If a buyer can't say why you over a cheaper option, you're a commodity and price is your only lever, a losing game. Positioning fixes that: for a specific someone, against a specific alternative, you own one benefit.

AI can sharpen the statement and stress-test it against competitors. You make the strategic choice of who you serve and what you stand against. That's a founder decision, not a wording exercise.

What you'll learn

  • Pick a specific customer, not "everyone"
  • Name the alternative you're beating
  • Own one benefit, not five
  • Make it hard to copy and put it everywhere
