Zero-party data: ask, don't stalk
Zero-party data is what customers tell you on purpose: quiz answers, preferences, survey replies. As third-party tracking dies, the data people willingly hand over is the most valuable and most durable you own.
You don't have to stalk customers across the web to personalize. Zero-party data is what they tell you deliberately, a post-purchase quiz, a preference center, a short survey, in exchange for something better. It's privacy-friendly by design, survives cookie and tracking crackdowns, and it's more accurate than anything you can infer. The rule: ask only what you'll actually use, and show the payoff so they answer.
Third-party tracking is dying: cookies, pixel data, cross-site ad audiences. Zero-party data is the opposite and it's yours forever. It's what customers tell you on purpose because you gave them a reason: a post-purchase quiz, a preference center, a two-question survey.
AI can design the questions and turn the answers into segments; you just have to ask well and honor the deal.
What you'll learn
- Decide what you'll act on first
- Ask at the right moment, with a payoff
- Pipe answers straight into segments and flows
- Use it visibly, and only as promised
