Paid Ads
Search vs Social
Search captures demand that already exists; social creates demand that didn't. Classify your product first, then split budget between the two, and usually run both.
Search and social ads do fundamentally different jobs: one captures demand that already exists, the other creates demand that didn't. Confuse them, or fund only one, and you either starve growth or waste spend chasing clicks nobody wanted yet.
Google and Bing sit at the bottom of a decision made elsewhere: someone types "buy noise-cancelling headphones" because they already want a pair. That's demand capture, and paid search's job is to win the click before a competitor does.
Meta and TikTok sit inside a feed nobody opened to shop, so the ad, really the creative, has to manufacture the want. That's demand creation.
AI can classify your product and draft the split; the search volume that decides it has to come from Keyword Planner or Google Trends, never a guess.
